the exam…

– the exam for who attends the lessons will be oral, written, or only about the blog?

by the end of the course there will be three families of students.

a) students who have a complete/interesting/fascinating blog (built during the course upon a regular base, using my presentations/lectures/guests as trigger to improve and enhance their own blogs).

b) the ones who have a lousy blog (in italian language: tirato via)

c) the ones who have no blog.

for students belonging to the “a” family, the exam will be about their blogs.

for students belonging to the “b” and “c” family, the exam will be about the collection of materials as posted in the “materials” page.

the exam will be oral.

– the exam will be about the things we say during the lessons and about designismanipulation or also about your book?

all materials presented in the courses are taken from my (going to be published, I hope soon but I am not so sure) book.

the only difference: in class we use the english version (while the book will come out in italian language).

what kind of question will be asked during the exam?

Here below a possible list of questions to be used to trigger some useful conversation during the exam (for people who have a meaningful blog). Please note it is not an exhaustive list, it is just to give you an idea of the kind of conversation I would like to have during the exam.

– can you explain me the main concept of your blog?

– can you show the most interesting posts you made?

– what makes them interesting?

– can you show the post you are not satisfied about?

– why you are not satisfied about them?

– were the blogs of your colleagues useful for your exercise?

– the blog you like the most (apart from yours)?

– why?

– if you would start the exercise again, what would be the differences?

– what did you learn with the blog exercise?

– finally, having to define “design” what would you say?

– the materials presented during the course, were they interesting?

– which one did you find interesting the most?

– and the guests?

if I have no blog, what kind of question will be asked during the exam?

Here below a possible list of questions to be used to trigger some useful conversation during the exam (for people who don’t have a meaningful blog). Please note it is not an exhaustive list, it is just to give you an idea of the kind of conversation I would like to have during the exam.

– all the materials are on-line. is there anything you find particularly interesting?

– why?

– can you explain?

– – what makes them interestin

– the blog you like the most (apart from yours)?

– why?

– what was the reason for not making the blog exercise?

– if you would start the class again, would you do the blog

– what did you learn in this class?

– finally, having to define “design” what would you say?

– he guests who came during the course, were they interesting?

– which one did you find interesting the most?

– why?

Finally some general questions, to be asked to everyone:

–  How the knowledge about design would be relevant to your future career?

– Can you explain some example of “design” in relation to business as far as you understood?

– Given the condition of  economic crisis we are facing now, how design in relation to an production of ideas, objects and events should be evolved?

– Given the condition of  economic crisis we are facing now, how production of ideas, objects and events in relation to design should be evolved?

– Upon the logic of capitalism and consumerism, design should support the production of more and more objects for extreme consumption of everybody, it seems that this logic might not be working any longer, what do you think about this? What are the agendas that design should manupulate?
